My Approach

Michael reported to me for approximately 18 years at Qualcomm and was an extremely valuable asset to me over that time. Mike is very smart and conscientious with excellent financial analytical skills and very experienced in building financial models, developing partnerships and strategic initiatives as well as commercial, contractual and financial structuring. Mike also has very good negotiating skills and was responsible for negotiating several debt, equity and joint development agreements while in my group. A number of those agreements were with customers / partners in emerging markets. Although most of Mike’s experience was in the wireless space, most recently Mike played a lead role in the development and subsequent spin out QCOM’s first foray into wireless health (Lifecomm), and QCOM’s investment in a wireless blood glucose monitor that is currently seeking FDA approval (Yofimeter). Mike would be a great addition to any corporate finance, M&A, strategic development or treasury organization.

It is with complete confidence that I can recommend Mike.  I first met him when we were both working at Lockheed Martin Finance Corporation - I was in the Treasury department and he worked in the structured finance group. In the years since, I have had the privilege of watching him progress in his career, and devote time to the mentoring of others' professional growth.  He always works hard while maintaining a high level of professionalism. I started working with Mike in 2008 after joining Qualcomm’s project finance and direct investments group within the Infrastructure Division, which together with our sales and marketing team was responsible for navigating challenging national regulatory regimes, finding equity and operating partners, and arranging large-scale infrastructure project financing packages, in order to establish ten new national cellular telephone networks globally, and thereby gain commercial traction for Qualcomm technologies, while limiting risks to the company. I found Mike to be an open, engaging and highly knowledgeable member of senior management who quickly became a mentor for me and others in the group; a rare combination of high competence, low ego, excellent team leadership skills, and exceptionally good strategic and tactical thinking from numerous perspectives, enabling achievement of high priority goals for the projects and the company. I quickly valued Mike’s competence, guidance, and integrity, and I continue to do so today.

I had the pleasure of working with Mike over a period of 4 years. Mike is a strong financier and strategist with excellent investment, analytical and corporate finance skills. Mike is also an extremely accomplished negotiator, which I discovered the hard way having been on the other side of the table on numerous occasions.
